Yet another lovely box from the peeps at Vegan Cuts! My fav items that I have been using from this box are the blush, lip balm, and the mineral eye shadow! The December box had six items in (it will vary by month between 4 and 7, depending on the value of the item). If you want to get your hands on your own Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, visit their website.
So let’s open up that box! Here are the items that we got to try in December:
Concrete Minerals Eye Shadow (Smut): I love the color! It’s definitely an interesting name for a color (they’ve got a whole slew of fun names for their shadows), but it’s beautiful – kind of a purple tint, light enough for every day wear, but great for a night out look when paired with some black eyeliner and mascara. One of the things I love about mineral eye shadow is how soft it is and how easy it is to apply. Oh, and per their website, their shadows “exclude scary preservatives like parabens and cheap fillers like talc and bismuth oxychloride.” You’ll love this stuff.
Demes Natural Skincare Cleansing Oil & Makeup Remover: Wow, Demes! Great product. This is a great makeup remover/cleansing oil that has very few ingredients: Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Tea tree, and Geranium. It’s a bit different than your traditional cleansers in that you don’t need to lather it up with water. To use, rub the oil onto your face (dry). It might feel a bit strange rubbing the oil in over your makeup, but it will be okay – trust me! To remove the oil and makeup, apply warm/hot water to a washcloth, let it steam on your face briefly, and then gently remove the oil and makeup with the cloth. Presto! It works amazingly, and the best part is that you don’t have to use a moisturizer afterwards. Oh, and it’s also safe for eye makeup removal as well. I tried it – it works!
Lauren Brooke Pressed Cheek Color (Sweet Sixteen): This is definitely one of my favorite items from the December box. The color is so beautiful and the container is nice and compact, so you can take it on the go for touch ups if you need to (but really, this stuff lasts all day). Also, you don’t need a lot! The color is so vibrant, which is nice because this tiny little blush will probably last you a long time. I use it pretty much every day and I’ve barely made a dent in it after four months! It’s free of bad ingredients like parabens, but full of good ones, like Orange Peel Wax for a protective barrier for your skin, Lecithin, Jojoba, Broccoli Seed, Allantoin, and Zinc. What’s even better? This blush is valued at $14! A nice score in the Vegan Cuts box.
Crazy Rumors Lip Balm (Cinnamon Bun): Love Crazy Rumors! This is the second lip balm that I’ve tried from them (courtesy of Vegan Cuts) and this “flavor” smells and tastes delicious. It will make you want to whip up some cinnamon buns in the kitchen stat! This is a great festive flavor, perfect for fall and winter. I also love how smooth the lip balm goes on! I could reapply this baby all day. It’s also made with 100% natural ingredients (aka – the “good stuff”).
Acure Cell Stimulating Facial Mask: I love Acure products. I have tried soooo many of them, from shampoos and lotions, to face wash and scrubs. It’s one of my favorite vegan/cruelty-free brands. I’m not a huge user of face masks but I gave this one a try! This one will make your skin feel nice and soft and help to draw out impurities and moisturize. Definitely recommend any Acure product!
Auromere Fresh Mint Toothpaste: This toothpaste will certainly leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean! It’s nice and minty, which I think is the best and most refreshing flavor of toothpaste. It does have SLS in it (sodium laureth sulfate), which is generally used to get that foamy/sudsy effect for lathering. It is a rumored carcinogen which I try to avoid – although, it says it’s made from coconut oil. Does anyone know if that makes a difference? It’s really hard to find natural products that don’t use SLS that really work well. You can buy this product at a good price on Vitacost.com.
This was a great box, and a great value. Until next month!
